Salvia apiana*, also known as white sage or sacred sage, is a fragrant, evergreen shrub native to the coastal sage scrub of Southern California and Baja California. It's a member of the Lamiaceae family, along with herbs like basil, mint, and lavender. White sage has silver-white leaves and white flowers with lavender streaks.
